A pet friendly lodge set up in the mountains of Lake County California right on beautiful Upper Blue Lake is a great weekend get away spot. The property that the lodge is sat upon is wonderful. There is a pool on site although note it was close due to covid during my stay. The lodge offers boat rentals, and they’re all electric which is unique. There are two docks that house the boats, which draw all sorts of sun fish. Over the course of three days my girlfriend and I caught 15 blue gill and one largemouth bass. We saw other folks pull up large carp, around three feet long. The lodge offers propane barbeques free to use on the wind sheltered deck. There is nice grass between the lodge and the water with some lawn chairs. The ability to bring your fluffy friend with you makes the grass necessary for bathroom trips. The rooms are average, nothing special there. You aren’t coming to a place like this to stay in the room. Unfortunately the rooms cleanliness left some to be desired. A thick coating of dust on some furniture and obvious wear and tear on the room overall.
Overall Rating 7.5/10 I would recommend The Lodge at Blue Lakes to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend on a quiet lake. If you have a paw pal to bring along that makes it even sweeter.
